BLACKBURN MAN SENTENCED AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT ON TEEN DURING NIGHT OUT
A "dangerous" man who sexually assaulted a teenager on a night out while she was celebrating her 18th birthday has been sentenced to jail.Tashkin Ali, a 28-year-old from Blackburn, approached the victim and offered to call her a taxi, claiming she appeared unwell.
However, he later dragged her outside a Bolton venue into a dark car park, according to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).
Ali was found guilty of sexual assault and was sentenced to six years in prison at Bolton Crown Court.The teenager, who is now 22, was enjoying her first club visit with a friend when she started feeling unwell in the smoking area, became sick, and required assistance.
Her friend noticed she was extremely drowsy and appeared to be dragged around by Ali, who had approached her.
When staff intervened, Ali became "agitated and aggressive", claiming she was his girlfriend and walking away.
The victim then realized her mobile phone had been stolen.
Ali was identified through witness accounts, and the phone was recovered from his home.Detective Sergeant Helen Hitchen praised the victim's bravery and the staff who helped her.
Ali received a sentence of six years for sexual assault and an additional three years on license for theft.
