TAMER MOUSTAFAS BRUTAL MURDER IN MOSELEY LEAVES FAMILY DEVASTATED

In a tragic and violent incident that shocked the Moseley community, Tamer Moustafa, aged 40, has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty of a savage double murder that took place on March 16. The court heard how Moustafa, under the influence of cocaine, carried out a brutal attack that resulted in the deaths of his wife, Nelly Moustafa, and their neighbor, Zahida Bi.

According to court proceedings, Moustafa repeatedly stabbed Nelly during a violent assault inside their Moseley home. The attack was described as extremely savage and brutal by Judge Melbourne Inman QC, who emphasized the devastating impact on the victim’s family. The court was told that Moustafa accused Nelly of having affairs with others, including Zahida Bi’s husband and even his own father. These claims, however, were unfounded and dismissed as delusional.

Following the murder of his wife, Moustafa made a phone call to his mother to confess what he had done. Subsequently, he armed himself with the same weapon and went to attack Zahida Bi in her garage. There, he stabbed her multiple times, leading to her death. Both women succumbed to their injuries; Nelly was pronounced dead at the scene, while Zahida Bi later died in hospital from her wounds.

The court was informed that Moustafa’s actions were heavily influenced by his cocaine use at the time of the attacks. It was also revealed that he harbored delusional beliefs that his wife was unfaithful, although there was no evidence of prior violence towards her. Moustafa was unable to provide a coherent explanation for his assault on Zahida Bi.

Relatives of the victims expressed their grief and outrage over the tragedy. His son, Ibrahim Moustafa, spoke emotionally about the loss, saying, “She (his mother) was the reason for us to smile after a long day. Tamer had abandoned us long before he murdered our mum. The lives of our mum and Mrs. Bi were taken in such a violent way. We hope Tamer gets what he deserves.”

A nephew of Zahida Bi, Mohammed Usman, recounted the horrific scene: “My aunty was lying on the floor covered in blood. The nightmare has not left me. The cruel and callous manner in which our sister was murdered is something I would not wish on anyone.”

The court also heard that Moustafa’s long-standing delusional beliefs about his wife’s fidelity contributed to his violent outburst. His family explained that mental health issues played a role in his actions, but the judge clarified that Moustafa was heavily under the influence of cocaine during the murders. Judge Inman acknowledged that these beliefs might have influenced his behavior but emphasized the brutality of the killings.

In his sentencing remarks, Judge Melbourne Inman QC stated, “I am satisfied those beliefs were or may have been a factor in what you did.” Moustafa was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 30 years. The case has left a lasting scar on the community and the families involved, highlighting the tragic consequences of drug abuse and mental health issues intertwined with violent crime.
