TALIA FORWARD FROM NORTON FITZWARREN SENTENCED FOR CRUELTY TO DOGS IN SQUALID CONDITIONS

Talia Forward, born on July 7, 1987, and residing at Hilly Park in Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton, has been found guilty of severe animal neglect and cruelty. Her conviction stems from her failure to provide adequate care for her dogs, Rex and Rory, which were discovered in a deplorable state during a visit by RSPCA inspectors in November 2017.

When inspectors arrived at Forward’s residence, they encountered a scene of utter neglect. The dogs were found amidst a chaotic environment filled with rubbish, faeces, and discarded plastic bags. The living space was in a state of extreme disarray, with an upturned television lying on the lounge floor, and the carpet covered in dog waste. The bedroom was strewn with trash, and both Rex and Rory were seen standing on the bed, indicating a lack of proper care and supervision. The bathroom was equally filthy, with the floor, sink, and toilet covered in grime, highlighting the neglect of basic hygiene and sanitation.

Photographs taken during the inspection vividly captured the appalling conditions. These images showed the dogs in a squalid environment, which prompted the RSPCA to take action. Inspector Jo Daniel expressed her outrage at the situation, stating, “Forward failed to provide proper and necessary veterinary care and a suitable environment for Rex and Roxy. The condition of the dogs was heartbreaking, and it is beyond belief that anyone could deem it acceptable to keep animals in such filthy, squalid surroundings.”

Following the investigation, Talia Forward pleaded guilty to two offences under the Animal Welfare Act 2006. Her sentencing included a prison term of three months for each offence, with both sentences to run concurrently. Additionally, she was banned from keeping any animals indefinitely, although she retains the right to appeal this ban after six years.

It is also noteworthy that Forward’s partner, Luke Scarley, faced separate prosecution related to the same dogs. The case against him involved an incident where one of the dogs ingested Spice, a hallucinogenic drug. Details of his case were reported by the Somerset County Gazette, emphasizing the broader concerns surrounding animal welfare and substance abuse issues linked to the case.
