TAHIR HADDADI BLACKBURN PREDATOR JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN AUDLEY
In December 2008, a disturbing incident unfolded in Blackburn involving a man named Tahir Haddadi, who was ultimately convicted and sentenced for a heinous crime against a young girl. The incident took place in the early hours of July 3rd, when Haddadi, then 26 years old and residing on Hosier Street in Blackburn, targeted a 14-year-old girl who was on her routine paper route in the Audley Lane area.
According to police reports, Haddadi approached the girl as she was completing her morning delivery, and with malicious intent, he threatened her with a small, three-inch blade.
The young girl was caught off guard as Haddadi demanded that she perform a sexual act on him, a terrifying ordeal that left her deeply traumatized.
The attacker’s actions did not stop there; he also attempted to kidnap her, trying to lead her away to a more secluded location, all while wielding the knife.
During the confrontation, the girl’s distress became evident.
As Haddadi continued to threaten her and walk with her, she became increasingly upset and began to cry.
Her emotional response appeared to cause Haddadi to panic, and he fled the scene before he could carry out any further harm.
The girl managed to escape from his grasp and returned safely to her home, where she reported the incident to authorities.
Detective Constable Lee Eckersley, who was involved in the case, described the impact of the attack on the young victim.
He stated, “The incident has left her absolutely devastated.
She is getting her confidence back now, but she was left scared to go outside for a long period.” He emphasized the severity of the crime, highlighting the use of a knife as an aggravating factor.
“This was a very serious incident, and she was very lucky that it was not worse,” he added.
Haddadi, who worked at a local cash and carry depot, denied the charges throughout the proceedings.
However, the evidence presented in Preston Crown Court was compelling enough to secure a conviction.
Haddadi was found guilty of sexual assault and kidnapping, and he was sentenced to three years in prison.
DC Eckersley concluded by condemning Haddadi’s actions, calling him a predator and a coward.
He expressed relief that justice had been served, allowing the victim and her family to begin the process of healing.
The case underscores the dangers faced by young individuals during their daily routines and highlights the importance of vigilance and swift law enforcement response in such serious crimes.
