STUART MACDONALD FROM WESTHILL ADMITS TO SEXUAL ABUSE OF TWO GIRLS IN ABERDEEN
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the local community, Stuart MacDonald, a 36-year-old man from Westhill, has confessed to sexually abusing two young girls nearly two decades ago. The incidents, which took place in the late 1990s, have now come to light, leading to his appearance at Aberdeen Sheriff Court for sentencing.MacDonald had previously entered guilty pleas to two separate charges related to these offenses. The court proceedings revealed that he engaged in lewd, indecent, and libidinous conduct towards one girl on multiple occasions when she was between 14 and 17 years old. Additionally, he admitted to a similar incident involving another girl of primary school age, when he was between 15 and 17 years old. These acts occurred at various addresses within the city of Aberdeen.
During the hearing, the depute fiscal, Jamie Dunbar, provided details of how MacDonald committed these acts. He explained that MacDonald had pretended to show the first girl toys, only to perform a sexual act on her. Regarding the second girl, MacDonald reportedly followed her into a toilet and instructed her to pull down her underwear, but she refused to comply. These disturbing incidents only came to light after one of the victims confided in her doctor about what had happened, prompting the authorities to contact the police.
MacDonald's defense lawyer, Mike Monro, stated that there was little more to add beyond what was already in the report. He emphasized that the accused clearly needed assistance, suggesting underlying issues that may have contributed to his behavior.
In her sentencing remarks, Sheriff Morag McLaughlin ordered MacDonald to serve a three-year probation period. She also mandated that he complete 150 hours of unpaid community work. Furthermore, MacDonald was placed under the notification requirements of the Sexual Offences Act for a duration of three years, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his conduct to protect the community from potential future offenses.
