STORM WILLIAMS BRUTALITY IN BIRMINGHAM: ANIMAL ABUSE AND VIOLENCE AGAINST INSPECTOR

Storm Williams, a man born around 2002 and currently residing on Glover Road in Sutton Coldfield, with known connections to the Aston area of Birmingham, has been convicted of heinous acts of animal cruelty and violence. His disturbing history includes the brutal killing of a young bulldog puppy named Major and a violent assault on an RSPCA inspector outside Birmingham Crown Court.

Williams’s history of cruelty towards Major, a small dog, is deeply troubling. Throughout 2022, he repeatedly took the puppy to the PDSA veterinary clinic with a series of severe injuries and health issues. The puppy’s condition was dire: wounds on his head and front leg, swelling around his neck, head, eyes, and ears, and an inability to stand. Despite these grave injuries, Major was hospitalized but was returned to Williams, who later brought him back to the vets on October 1 of that year. The extent of the puppy’s suffering was heartbreaking; he was left blind and with broken cheekbones after enduring multiple vicious attacks inflicted by Williams.

Tragically, Major’s suffering culminated in his euthanasia, a decision made to end his pain. On that occasion, the puppy was lethargic and vomiting, with Williams claiming that boxes had fallen on him. It was later confirmed that Major’s injuries had left him permanently blind. Further distressing developments occurred on October 28, when Williams contacted the PDSA again, claiming that Major had been attacked by another dog and was unresponsive. Veterinary examinations revealed that the puppy was in a coma, with a floppy head, signs of a burn injury, blood in his ear, and a swollen throat. X-rays uncovered that Major had broken cheekbones, injuries that had occurred between 20 to 30 days earlier, indicating ongoing abuse.

Williams’s criminal behavior extended beyond animal cruelty. In July 2023, he was involved in a violent attack outside Birmingham Crown Court following a case management hearing. During this incident, Williams assaulted an RSPCA inspector, causing severe injuries including a fractured jaw, broken nose, fractured eye socket, and multiple broken teeth. The inspector suffered extensive blood loss and was left unconscious on the ground. A member of the public intervened to assist the injured officer. Williams had previously served a nine-year prison sentence for this attack.

Judge Peter Cooke condemned Williams’s actions, stating, “This was an egregious breach of normal behaviour when interacting with an animal. Animals which look to us for love and care. This puppy didn’t receive that. He was treated abominably and you didn’t just injure your pet, you severely injured an RSPCA inspector too.”

An RSPCA spokesperson expressed their distress over the case, emphasizing the suffering endured by Major and condemning violence against their staff. “This was a particularly distressing case to deal with as poor Major suffered such repeated horrendous pain and suffering during his short life and not the love and protection he deserved. This kind of behaviour has no place in an animal-loving society such as ours, and will always be thoroughly investigated by our dedicated teams of officers. Our dedicated staff should never be subjected to abuse and violence while working hard to improve the lives of animals.”

Williams was sentenced to 18 months in prison, to run concurrently with his existing nine-year sentence. Additionally, he was banned from keeping pets for 15 years, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the community’s efforts to prevent further harm.
