STEWART TUCK FROM DURHAM JAILED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN STOCKTON AND TEESSIDE

A man named Stewart Tuck has been sentenced to prison after a series of disturbing sexual offences involving a young victim. The case, which unfolded in the courts of Teesside, revealed that Tuck, aged 24 and residing on Wheatley Road in Stockton, committed these heinous acts while he was still a secondary school student himself. The victim, who endured abuse at the hands of Tuck during their childhood, only came forward years later after discovering that Tuck had committed another sex-related crime.

The revelation came to light when a person with access to Tuck’s phone found an indecent image of a toddler stored on it in 2022. This discovery prompted the individual to report Tuck to the police. As the investigation progressed, Tuck was arrested and brought before Teesside Crown Court. During the court proceedings, the victim, who had previously remained silent, learned about the new allegations and decided to come forward to give their account.

In court, Tuck pleaded guilty to a total of nine historic sexual offences. These included three counts of sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, three counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, two counts of rape of a child under 13, and causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity. Additionally, Tuck admitted to the recent offence of taking indecent photographs of a child.

The judge, Jonathan Carroll, addressed Tuck directly, stating, "The discovery of your adult offending was the trigger for your first victim to come forward. You remain a significant risk of causing serious harm, by committing further offences." Recognizing the severity of the crimes, the judge sentenced Tuck to an extended prison term totaling seven years and nine months. He was sentenced to serve four years and nine months in custody, with an extended licence period of three years following his release. Tuck is required to serve at least two-thirds of his prison sentence before being eligible for parole.

Furthermore, Tuck was subjected to a restraining order to prevent any contact with his victims or associated parties. As a registered sex offender, he is mandated to register his address with the police for the rest of his life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and supervision. The case highlights the long-lasting impact of childhood abuse and the importance of vigilant law enforcement in protecting vulnerable individuals from repeat offenders.
