DOMESTIC OFFENDER GUILTY OF ABUSING EX-PARTNER
A man with a growing history of domestic offenses has been sentenced to a decade-long non-harassment order.Stewart McNicol, aged 36, of Strathmore Street in Kinghorn, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.
He pleaded guilty to engaging in abusive behavior towards his partner or ex-partner between December 1, 2024, and February 27 of the previous year, at Primrose Lane in Rosyth.
The court heard that he accused her of infidelity, repeatedly yelled and used abusive language, made offensive and derogatory comments, and physically pushed her, causing her to fall onto a sofa and attempting to grab her.
The relationship lasted five months, ending in late February last year, after the woman grew tired of his accusations and aggressive behavior.
Sheriff Krista Johnston remarked that McNicol had been “minimising the nature and effect of your behaviour” in the social work report.
She further stated, “You come before the court with a burgeoning record of offending,” noting his previous jail term.
The court sentenced him to a community payback order with two years of supervision and participation in the Caledonian Programme for domestic offenders.
Additionally, McNicol was granted a non-harassment order lasting ten years.
