FORRES MAN STEVEN SCOTT JAILED AFTER UNDERAGE SEX

A Moray man who had sex with an underage girl after plying her with alcohol has been jailed for two years.

Father-of-five Steven Scott, 30, of Forres, had gone on trial but admitted having sex with the 13-year-old.

An allegation that he raped her was dropped.

The High Court in Edinburgh heard Scott was drunk at the time of the offence two years ago and had since given up alcohol as a result.

Judge Lord Tyre said there was no alternative to prison.
