SEX OFFENDER BREACHES COURT ORDER BY DELETING PORN HISTORY, SMART TV SEIZED

A sex offender’s internet-enabled smart TV was seized after he breached a sexual harm prevention order by deleting his porn history from it.

Callan Clark, aged 52, had been ordered not to delete his browsing, call, text message, or email records, which he was found to have violated.

The order was read to Clark by police shortly after it was imposed in June 2021 at Elgin Sheriff Court, and he indicated understanding of its terms.

However, during a police compliance check at his Forres home earlier this year, officers discovered files on his smart TV indicating he had not been adhering to the order.

Officers found a link to recently removed items in the deleted items folder, which evidence suggested were sign-ups for adult sexual websites.

Clark confirmed during police interview that he had deleted his history, citing poor mental health as the reason.

The police seized the smart TV, and the court was informed that it was sought to be forfeited.

Clark admitted to breaching the order between January 17 and February 19, 2025.

The sheriff warned Clark, saying 'Don’t get your hopes up – we will see what the report says,' indicating a custodial sentence was highly likely given his record and the nature of the offence.
