SHOCKING ESCAPE OF SHEFFIELD SEX OFFENDER STEVEN HOBSON: POLICE APPEAL IN SOUTH YORKSHIRE
In April 2022, authorities in South Yorkshire issued a public appeal to locate Steven Hobson, a convicted sex offender who has gone missing from Sheffield. The police are urgently seeking assistance from the community to find Hobson, who is wanted for failing to comply with the conditions of his Sex Offender Notification Requirements.
Steven Hobson, aged 29, was placed on the Sex Offenders Register in 2017 following his incarceration for producing and distributing indecent images of children.
His release from prison came with strict conditions, including a ten-year registration period, which mandated that he regularly update his current address with local law enforcement agencies.
However, since January 2022, Hobson has not registered any address, raising concerns about his whereabouts and compliance.
South Yorkshire Police have made extensive efforts to locate Hobson, including speaking directly with him, but he has failed to disclose his current location.
As part of their ongoing investigation, officers have released a photograph of Hobson to aid in identification and public recognition.
The police describe him as a white male of medium build, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall.
His last known residence was in Sheffield, but he also maintains connections to Rotherham, Lincolnshire, and Lancashire.
In their official statement, a police spokesperson emphasized the seriousness of the situation: “Extensive enquiries have been made to locate Hobson but despite speaking to him, he has failed to provide us with his current location.” The authorities urge the public not to approach Hobson if they see him but to contact emergency services immediately by calling 999.
They also request that anyone with relevant information about his whereabouts call 101, referencing crime number 14/16360/22.
For those wishing to remain anonymous, the police recommend reaching out to Crimestoppers, an independent charity, via their website at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling their UK Contact Centre at 0800 555 111.
The police continue to treat the case with urgency, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in ensuring public safety and bringing Hobson into custody.
