WINSFORD MAN ADMITS DOWNLOADING CHILD PORN IMAGES
A WINSFORD pervert has admitted downloading 19 images of child pornography.Some of the images on Steven Griffiths's computer included sexual acts, sadism, bestiality or both.
Griffiths, 43, of Wingfield Place, admitted the charges when he appeared at Northwich Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
Magistrates sent him to Chester Crown Court to be sentenced after deciding their powers were not sufficient.
Register He was immediately ordered to sign the sex offenders' register and his case was adjourned for sentencing on March 13.
Carolyn Viviani, prosecuting, said there were a number of images of levels four and five.
Level one is the lowest and level five the highest Level four is penetrative sexual activity between children and adults and level five is sadism and bestiality.
The prosecutor told magistrates: "Your powers are not sufficient.
The recommended sentence is between six months and two years." Chris Johnson defending said: "We have to accept the case has to be sent to the Crown Court for sentence." The offences stretch over a nine-month period and the charges were making an indecent photo or pseudo photo of a child.
Griffiths downloaded the material on June 16, August 12, 23, September 4 November 19 and December 9, 2005.
In 2006 the offences were committed on January 14, 15, January 24 and 25, February 1, 5, 8, 10, February 11 and February 23.
