In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Plymouth, Steven Dunn, a 40-year-old man, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple counts of sexual assault and rape involving three young girls.The heinous acts spanned over a three-year period, during which Dunn subjected the victims to repeated abuse, with the most severe incidents involving the eldest girl.
According to court proceedings, Dunn's abuse of the eldest girl was particularly brutal and frequent, occurring over an 18-month period.
The young girl endured not only physical assault but also emotional trauma that led her to self-harm, including stabbing herself with darts.
Despite her efforts to resist, Dunn overpowered her on numerous occasions, even resorting to tying her up with a dressing gown belt during one of the assaults.
The court heard that the abuse was so severe that it caused her significant psychological distress.
The crimes only came to light when Dunn himself voluntarily entered a police station in Crownhill, Plymouth, on October 4.
His confession prompted police to investigate further, leading to the arrest and subsequent charges.
