PETERHEAD OFFENDER FACES MORE JAIL TIME AFTER BRUTAL ROBBERY AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
A man known as Steven Craig, also called McGee, who was involved in criminal activities including robbing a pensioner and assaulting his partner has been warned he could face additional jail time.
Craig appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court where he admitted to robbing a 78-year-old pensioner in January by smashing a window of his home, demanding money, and being partially masked at the time.
The pensioner let Craig in and handed over an envelope of cash before officers caught him shortly after the crime.
Craig, aged 32, had previously been sentenced in March for this incident and was appearing from prison during the hearing.
He also admitted acts of domestic abuse towards his partner in July 2019, which involved kicking, punching, and stamping on her, as well as verbally threatening police officers called to help her.
He further pleaded guilty to breaching bail conditions by visiting his partner two days later and attempting to punch and headbutt a police officer.
The court deferred sentencing until August 23 to allow background reports, and the defence suggested alternative punishments other than jail, but the sheriff indicated no promises would be made.
