November 2017 Pervert downloaded hundreds of images of children as young as 3 being raped A paedophile who downloaded hundreds of images of children as young as three and four years old being raped and sexually abused has been spared a jail term Stephen Willetts of Washford, 33, resigned from his job as the manager of Tesco in Taunton after admitting three charges of possession of indecent images of children. Prosecuting, Patrick Mason said police had been tipped off by the National Crime Agency when they spotted an image being uploaded to an IP address which was linked to the defendent. “He was arrested on April 19 this year, and police found 555 category A images, 198 category B images and 159 classed as category C. “They also found extreme pornography on the his mobile phone.” Sentencing, Judge David Evans at Taunton Crown Court told him: “These offences are disgusting. You are part of a perverted online community of individuals who disregard entirely the appalling harm that lies behind the creation of these images. “Without people like you wanting to view these images, very few would be produced. “These images beggar belief. Children as young as three and four being raped by adults – and somehow that gave you sexual gratification.” But he said that a prison term would not give him enough time to undertake any meaningful treatment. “As a result, I am sentencing you to a three year community order for each charge, to run concurrently. “It is clear you pose some risk of re-offending and it is essential to minimise that risk. “Therefore, alongside the community order, you must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work for the community. You will take part in a sex offender’s treatment programme and you will carry out up to 45 days of rehabilitation activity.” “You will also be made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order, and will be on the sex offender’s register for 10 years.”
