Stephen Pickering, 57, of Viewlands Drive, was sentenced at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday after being found guilty of 13 charges of sexual assault. He was banned from contacting youngsters online. Stephen Pickering, 56, of Viewlands Drive, Trench, was charged with indecently touching the child between July 29, 2009, and June 25 last year. He denied 13 charges. Shrewsbury Crown Court heard he also used children’s internet sites such as MovieStarPlanet to stay in regular contact with the child. The court had previously heard Pickering had been spotted sexually assaulting a child. CCTV footage had also shown him acting indecently at Telford’s international rail freight terminal. Judge Peter Barrie told Pickering yesterday: “You must be advised you are likely to face a custodial sentence.” The case was adjourned for sentencing until May 14
