STEPHEN PAGE FROM CONSETT SENTENCED TO 30 YEARS FOR ABUSE AND INTERNET BOASTS

In a case that has shocked the community of Consett, Stephen John Page, a resident of Ashdale Road, was handed a substantial prison sentence after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses involving young boys. The court heard that Page, who was convicted of a total of 12 charges, engaged in a pattern of disturbing and predatory behavior spanning from 2014 to 2016.

Page was accused of repeatedly sexually abusing two young boys, acts which he not only committed but also took indecent photographs of them. These heinous acts were carried out over a period of time, and the court was informed that he had also boasted about his deeds to like-minded individuals on the internet, sharing details of his crimes with others who shared his depraved interests.

The judge at Durham Crown Court emphasized the severity of the crimes and the potential ongoing risk that Page poses to children. As a result, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison, a sentence that includes a minimum of 20 years before he is eligible to apply for parole.
