BOURNEMOUTH OFFENDER JAILED FOR VILE ATTACK ON ELDERLY MAN
A rapist named Stephen Thomas Jamieson, aged 20, was sentenced to eight years in prison for attacking and sexually abusing a 68-year-old man in his home in Charminster on January 25 of this year. Jamieson entered the pensioner's room after the victim asked him and his friends to lower loud music. Jamieson then physically assaulted the man, punching him seven times and stealing a laptop, phone, and television. He later threatened to kill the victim and forced him to perform a sexual act, which was classified as rape. When the victim refused to reveal his bank PIN, Jamieson pulled down his trousers and threatened further sexual assault. Jamieson admitted to one robbery charge but was convicted of the sexual offences after a trial. The court heard Jamieson had a lengthy criminal record for theft, burglary, affray, and battery. The judge sentenced Jamieson to serve two-thirds of his life sentence before parole eligibility for rape, plus additional concurrent sentences for robbery and sexual assault. The judge condemned Jamieson for bullying, abusing, and violating the victim.
