February 2018 Jailed for sexually abusing young girl A paedophile is “where he belongs” after being sentenced to seven years and nine months for his crimes. Stephen Foster, 53, of Woodstock Road, Charlbury, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on January 17 after being found guilty of four counts of sexual activity with a young girl and one count of voyeurism between 2013 and 2015. He also pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children. Investigating officer Detective Constable Rebecca McLeod said: “It was only as a result of the victim’s strength and courage that Foster has been convicted. “The victim has to live with the psychological scars of what Foster did to her and I hope that the conviction will go some way in helping her rebuild her life and have the future she deserves. “This was a long and complex investigation which has taken more than two years of joint work between the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, the Hi-Tech Crime Unit and the Crown Prosecution Service to ensure that Foster is where he belongs.” Foster was also given a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will have to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for an indefinite period.
