STEFAN MCCORMICK'S BRUTAL CRIMES IN BIRKENHEAD AND BEYOND REVEALED

Stefan Tad McCormick, also known as Stefan Dixon, born on April 22, 1991, and most recently residing on Woodchurch Lane in Birkenhead, has a troubling history of violent and cruel behavior that has garnered significant attention from law enforcement and animal welfare agencies alike.

One of the most heinous acts attributed to McCormick involves the severe abuse of a four-month-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Ty. The injuries inflicted upon the puppy in December 2013 were so horrific that the dog was in excruciating pain, with veterinarians describing the injuries as consistent with the dog being pulled by its forelimbs with excessive force and swung against a solid object. The vet who examined Ty reported that the puppy was unable to stand on its forelimbs, with its paws bent over, and that it screamed in agony. The injuries were so severe that Ty had to be euthanized, leaving the veterinary staff deeply distressed.

Authorities were alerted when RSPCA officers responded to McCormick’s residence following reports that the dog had been hit by a car. However, upon arrival, the officers quickly suspected that the injuries were not accidental. An examination revealed that Ty was in obvious pain, unable to support himself, and suffering from injuries indicative of deliberate cruelty. An expert later confirmed that the puppy had suffered “severe blunt force trauma” to his front legs, consistent with being swung against a solid object or pulled forcefully by someone. The investigation into this case was described by RSPCA Inspector Anthony Joynes as one of the most brutal he had encountered, emphasizing the disturbing nature of the abuse.

McCormick’s criminal record extends beyond animal cruelty. While on bail for the attack on Ty, he breached a non-molestation order and assaulted his former partner. In October 2014, he was sentenced to 20 months in prison at Liverpool Crown Court for an alcohol-fueled assault on a 17-year-old girl in Hoylake, during which he punched, kicked, and dragged her along the street. The court proceedings also revealed that McCormick had pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, leading to his conviction for the cruelty case.

In addition to his convictions, McCormick’s behavior has continued to escalate. In May 2020, he was jailed for 10 weeks after displaying aggressive and disrespectful conduct towards hospital staff. During this incident, he wished COVID-19 upon nurses and threw a bloodied tissue at a hospital worker. His outburst was triggered when medical personnel refused to allow his girlfriend to accompany him due to pandemic restrictions. McCormick shouted insults, including wishing the nurses would contract the virus, and directed derogatory language at a female security officer, calling her a “bitch” and a “slag.”

His criminal record also includes a 17-month sentence in 2017 for wounding, and at the time of the hospital incident, he was on license for an earlier offence. Furthermore, he had a nine-month suspended sentence hanging over him for an affray at San Carlo restaurant in June 2018. Despite possessing a court order to stay away from his ex-girlfriend, McCormick was involved in multiple breaches of the law, demonstrating a pattern of violent and disruptive behavior.

McCormick’s social media presence shows him using the surname Dixon, and a recent photo from 2018 depicts him working in his father’s tattoo shop located in Birkenhead Market. He has claimed to have cancer, a statement that family members have described as an attempt to seek attention, though this has not been verified.
