SIMON TEALE FROM BLACKBURN INVOLVED IN CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CASE AT WHALLEY COURT
In June 2017, a serious case involving child sexual abuse images came before the magistrates in Blackburn, highlighting the disturbing actions of Simon Teale, a man with ties to Whalley and Blackburn.Teale, aged 50, who listed his address as Preston New Road, Blackburn, but previously resided at Abbots Croft in Whalley, appeared in court to admit to possessing and creating indecent images of children.
The police had responded to an anonymous tip that led them to his residence in Whalley, where they conducted a search and seized his computer equipment.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the seized devices contained a significant number of child pornography images, categorized into three levels of severity.
Specifically, Teale pleaded guilty to making 33 images classified as Category A, which are considered the most severe, along with 62 images in Category B and a further 233 images in Category C.
During the court proceedings, the prosecution, led by Andy Robinson, described some of the images as 'fairly extreme.' He explained that the images depicted penetrative sexual acts involving very young children, some as young as three or four years old.
Robinson emphasized the disturbing nature of the photographs, noting that some of the children appeared to be in distress, which added to the gravity of the offences.
Ben Leech, representing the defense, acknowledged that the case would be transferred to Preston Crown Court for sentencing, indicating the seriousness of the charges and the need for a more detailed judicial review.
Following the guilty plea, Teale was granted bail and is scheduled to appear at Preston Crown Court for sentencing, where the full extent of his crimes and appropriate penalties will be determined.
The case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and the importance of community vigilance in reporting suspicious activities.
