Holmfirth Sexual Abuser

March 2021 Police sting catches out Holmfirth pervert who thought he was talking to teenage boy A police sting whereby an undercover officer posed online as a teenage boy succeeded in catching out a Danish man who tried to talk sex to him. Simon Nielsen, 30, of Lower Holme, House Annexe, Holme House Lane, New Mill, Holmfirth, pleaded guilty to two charges at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court today (Thurs). Firstly, that on 22 January, 2019, at Huddersfield, the defendant, for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, attempted to communicate with ‘Jack’, a person under 16. Secondly, on the same day he was accused of possessing a prohibited image of a child. Bill Astin, prosecuting, said this case arose out of an undercover operation called Reveal and was conducted by the Regional Organised Crime Unit. He said the defendant told Jack “he was 28 and was looking for fun.” The conversation turned to sexual matters and Nielsen sent Jack a picture of his penis. The undercover officer also tried to continue the conversation with the defendant on 6 and 8 February 2020 but he did not respond. Police also discovered at his home address an indecent image which Mr Astin said was effectively a cartoon that looked like a six-year-old child. The bench ordered Nielsen, who was represented by Sonia Kidd, to report to Huddersfield Police Station within three days and notify officers that he had been convicted of sexual offences. He was also granted unconditional bail and told to appear before Leeds Crown Court on 15 April for sentencing.
