MAN WHO TOLD PARTNER 'SNITCHES GET STITCHES' AFTER STRANGULATION JAILED FOR 21 MONTHS
Shaun Davies, 37, lifted his partner off the floor by her throat and told her "snitches get stitches".
During the assault, he pressed his thumb into her windpipe for what she described as "what seemed like a lifetime".
The victim was so frightened she thought she was going to die, and the incident was serious enough that a judge sentenced Davies to 21 months imprisonment and imposed an eight-year restraining order.
Davies had been in a relationship with the victim for two years and had six previous convictions, including two cautions for harassment against an ex-partner.
He also harassed her after the police were contacted, calling her up to 500 times daily.
He was arrested on February 20 after breaching bail conditions.
In a victim personal statement, she said she was trying to move forward but fears she will "always be looking over her shoulder".
