August 2015 Eight years’ jail for thug who left baby son with fractured limbs and ribs after attack A father who left his three week old baby with multiple fractured bones after attacking him has been jailed for eight years. Shaun Anderson had claimed he tripped over the baby’s moses basket while holding him in his arms, dropping the child on the floor. But jurors at Mold Crown Court didn’t believe his story, and convicted him of wounding with intent. Anderson, 22, from Wrexham , left the child with two fractures to his ribs as well as three fractures to his arms after the attack last July. The dad, of Moorland Avenue in Wrexham, admitted child neglect on the basis of not getting immediate medical attention. Anderson said when he tripped over the moses basket he had been knocked out. He said he came round the baby seemed to be OK. He said he did not think of calling the hospital but did try to call his ex-partner. Jury members were told by the baby’s mother that the child was happy and had made a good recovery.
