SHABAJUL HAQUE'S SHAMEFUL SEXUAL ASSAULT IN HULL: A DISTURBING CASE OF VULNERABLE TEENAGE GIRL

A distressing incident unfolded in Hull when a man named Shabajul Haque, a father of five, subjected a vulnerable teenage girl to unwelcome sexual advances, leaving her visibly upset and in shock.

The court proceedings revealed that Haque, aged 46 and residing on Pendrill Street, off Beverley Road, engaged in inappropriate and harmful behavior towards the young girl during two separate encounters.

According to court reports, Haque forcibly kissed the girl on her cheek and, on another occasion, followed her closely, kissed her again, and ran his hand along her thigh while they were in a secluded area away from the prying eyes of others.

The teenage girl, who has mild learning difficulties, was deeply affected by these encounters.

Afterward, she confided in her mother and another individual about what had transpired, which led to the matter being reported to the police.

The girl was left crying and trembling after the incidents, highlighting the emotional trauma she endured.

The court heard that Haque initially denied the allegations, attempting to dismiss the events as untrue during a later interview with the probation service.

However, he later admitted to two counts of sexual assault during the court hearing, which took place at Hull Crown Court.

Charlotte Baines, representing Haque, provided context about his background, noting that he has no prior criminal convictions and that he works late afternoons and evenings.

She also mentioned that Haque has five children, whose ages range from two to seventeen years old.

During the proceedings, Haque was assisted by a Bengali interpreter to ensure clear communication.

Judge Alexander Menary addressed Haque directly, stating, "You made unwanted sexual advances towards her.

You admitted your offending at an earlier hearing." The judge pointed out that Haque later attempted to deny the offenses during a probation interview, claiming that the incidents did not happen.

Judge Menary explained that this denial appeared to stem from a sense of shame rather than outright dishonesty, emphasizing the seriousness of the misconduct.

As part of his sentence, Haque was ordered to complete 60 hours of unpaid work and attend 25 days of rehabilitation programs.

Additionally, he is required to register as a sex offender for a period of five years, a measure intended to monitor and prevent further offenses.

The case underscores the importance of protecting vulnerable individuals from sexual misconduct and holding offenders accountable for their actions.
