Sean Young

Upper Norwood Sexual Abuser

December 2015 Man, 34, pleaded guilty to possessing indecent photos of children AN UPPER Norwood man pleaded guilty to possessing 123 indecent photographs of children on his mobile phone. Sean Young, 34, had a number of internet using devices confiscated from his flat in Grange Road, following a search warrant by police in on April 13. The images were found on a £400 Sony Experia mobile. One was classed as category B, possession of images involving non-penetrative sexual activity. The remaining 122 were classed as category C, images which did not fall into category B or the most serious, category A. Prosecuting, Jackie Hughes, said at Croydon Magistrates on Friday: “In a police interview, Mr Young said he had bought the phone some months ago and it was sealed before it was purchased. “He said he had not seen any of the images or know how or why they were on his phone.” Defence Lisa Towell, said Young, who lives alone, had a previous conviction for a similar offence from March and was sentenced to a community order. Miss Towell added: “He [Young] was working in security industry but lost his job as a result of the conviction. “He is actively seeking work. He has fallen into a cycle of depression.” Magistrate Angela Clancy said the court was considering custody for the “very serious offence” and adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report until January 8. Young, who was charged with possession of indecent photographs or pseudo-photograph of a child, was granted unconditional bail.
