SEAN MARR THREATENS PREGNANT WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN LIVERPOOL - SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing series of events that have sent shockwaves through the Liverpool community, Sean Marr, a 33-year-old man with a troubling criminal history, was found guilty of making violent and threatening remarks towards two pregnant women and their children. The incidents, which unfolded over a span of several weeks in early 2019, highlight a pattern of intimidation and menace that has left victims living in fear.
According to court records, Marr’s threats became increasingly sinister following his breakup with Dawn Donnelly, a 39-year-old woman who was pregnant at the time.
Their relationship, which lasted approximately ten months, was marred by Marr’s troubling behavior.
Miss Donnelly recounted that Marr had promised to seek counseling to address his issues, but after their separation, his conduct took a darker turn.
Between March 18 and March 24, 2019, Marr sent a series of alarming messages to Miss Donnelly, in which he threatened to harm her and her children in various horrific ways.
He claimed he would burn them, shoot them, and even mutilate them, revealing a dangerous level of hostility.
Prosecutor Derek Jones detailed the severity of Marr’s threats during the court proceedings.
Marr, who was described as having no fixed address but previously residing on Edge Lane, Fairfield, explicitly threatened to throw acid in the faces of Miss Donnelly and her daughter.
He also threatened to kidnap and slash her son, and to murder her altogether.
Furthermore, Marr warned that social services would take their unborn baby away once it was born, indicating a clear intent to cause psychological distress and harm.
Adding to the disturbing nature of his actions, Marr’s interactions extended beyond threats to Miss Donnelly.
On March 26, 2019, he began communicating with Danielle Daley, a 29-year-old woman he met on the dating website Badoo.
The two arranged to meet in Southport, and they saw each other on three consecutive days—March 29, 30, and 31.
During their meetings, Miss Daley disclosed that she was pregnant with another man’s child, a revelation that seemed to provoke Marr’s anger.
He began urging her to terminate the pregnancy, and his suspicion grew when she talked to other men.
His threats escalated to physical intimidation, with Marr threatening to kick down her front door.
Miss Daley recounted that Marr came to her house on April 2, 2019, while her two children were present, and he kicked at her door.
Marr denied this allegation, but the threat persisted.
He sent her a text message stating he intended to burn her house down, even if her children were inside, and included a picture of a gun in another message.
His words were equally menacing, with Marr telling her, “got your name on ready” and “I ain’t f***ing round, this is next level stuff and you’re going to pay for it.” He also warned her, “Better watch I don’t come and grab them kids,” indicating a clear intent to intimidate and threaten her and her family.
When Marr was arrested, he confessed to the police but claimed he had no intention of carrying out the threats, asserting that his actions were meant solely to scare his victims.
Despite his claims, the fear and anxiety experienced by Miss Daley and Miss Donnelly were palpable.
Miss Daley admitted that she could not sleep due to her constant fear and described feeling as if she was “constantly watching her back.” Meanwhile, Miss Donnelly expressed that she would remain anxious for years to come, feeling trapped in her own home.
To protect herself and her children, she installed CCTV cameras, reinforced her fencing, and changed the locks on her property.
Sean Marr, who appeared via video link from HMP Liverpool, pleaded guilty to two counts of stalking.
His criminal record is extensive, with 20 previous convictions for a total of 66 offences.
His past includes a youth sentence of five and a half years for robbery and kidnapping.
In 2015, Marr was spared prison after threatening to petrol bomb his ex-girlfriend’s house while her children were inside.
He was later sentenced to 16 weeks in jail in 2016 for threatening an ex-partner, and in 2017, he received a 42-week sentence for three separate battery offences against another woman.
During sentencing, Judge Recorder Michael Murray imposed two indefinite restraining orders to prevent Marr from contacting either victim.
The judge also addressed the issue of Marr’s involvement with Miss Donnelly’s unborn child, stating that communication should be handled through legal channels.
Marr responded dismissively, saying, “I don’t think it’s my baby anyway.” In his sentencing remarks, Recorder Murray characterized Marr’s actions—particularly his threats to mutilate Miss Daley—as those of a “very jealous” individual.
Marr was sentenced to an additional 20 months in prison for his conduct, underscoring the seriousness with which the court viewed his threats and behavior.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by individuals with a history of violence and the importance of protective measures for victims in such situations.
