SEAN JEFFREY JENNINGS: EX-CHOIRMASTER AND TALENT SCOUT FROM FAILAND AND VAUXHALL CONVICTED OF PAEDOPHILIA

In September 2014, a disturbing revelation emerged regarding Sean Jeffrey, formerly known as Sean Jennings, a man with a history deeply intertwined with child abuse and exploitation. Jennings, who previously worked as a choirmaster and talent scout, has been linked to serious criminal offenses, including sexual offenses against minors, and has maintained a presence in the entertainment industry despite his criminal past.

Sean Jennings, now operating under the name Sean Jeffrey, is a 42-year-old individual who has managed to stay connected with high-profile figures in the entertainment world, notably Simon Cowell’s team. His current profession involves acting as a vocal coach and talent promoter, claiming to assist young aspiring artists in securing opportunities on popular talent shows such as X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent. Despite the fact that he does not receive direct payment from these shows, Jennings boasts of close relationships with their executives and frequently works with them to recommend potential contestants for auditions.

However, Jennings’s sordid past casts a long shadow over his current activities. He is legally required to register as a sex offender due to his previous convictions. His online curriculum vitae (CV) is particularly chilling, as it includes claims of working on West End productions such as Billy Elliot and Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, with children cast in these shows. This raises serious concerns about his involvement with minors in professional settings.

In response to these revelations, a spokesperson for Cowell’s production company, Syco, issued a statement last night, asserting: “Clearly we knew nothing about this. We will not welcome any contact from him in the future.” This statement underscores the entertainment giant’s disassociation from Jennings following the exposure of his criminal history.

Just weeks prior to these disclosures, Jennings had been active on social media, posting on Facebook about his busy summer working in music management and vocal coaching, including his involvement with the X Factor. Additionally, he tweeted about attending X Factor Bootcamp, expressing enthusiasm for the process. Despite his efforts to maintain a facade of professionalism, Jennings’s past crimes have come to light, revealing a pattern of predatory behavior.

Jennings’s attempts to re-establish himself in the industry have been met with shock and outrage. His protégés, including a group called Class A, successfully appeared on Britain’s Got Talent this year, but the knowledge of Jennings’s criminal history is likely to cause distress among those he has mentored.

The severity of Jennings’s past crimes was detailed during his trial at Bristol Crown Court. The court heard that he used his position as director of music with the City of Bristol Boys’ Choir to groom a 12-year-old boy, a victim he preyed upon until the boy confided in his mother after turning 15. The court described Jennings’s actions as “evil.”

Jennings pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including seven counts of indecent assault, three counts of indecency with a child, and making and possessing indecent images of a child. The police investigation revealed that he had used his influence to exploit a young singer under his tutelage, further emphasizing the danger he posed.

When confronted at his riverside apartment in Vauxhall, South London, Jennings initially denied his identity as Sean Jennings but later admitted to working as a talent manager for The X Factor. He claimed to only work with adults and insisted he was strict about not working with children. At the time of his initial sentencing, he was 30 years old and described his past as “young and foolish.”

Recent investigations, prompted by our reporting, have revealed that Jennings, operating through his business called London Vocal Coach, continues to take bookings from children under 16. Scotland Yard has been made aware of these activities, and child protection experts, including Mark Williams-Thomas, have expressed concern about his ongoing contact with minors. Williams-Thomas, known for exposing Jimmy Savile, emphasized the danger Jennings presents and urged caution regarding any employment or activity involving boys aged ten to 16.

Jennings’s current online profile states that he trained as a singer and pianist at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, attending under his new name after his release from prison. He also claims to own a company called JAM Artist Management, although he is not listed under any of his names at Companies House, including his birth name, Sean Jeffrey Tainton. His social media presence is disturbing, with a profile picture depicting a cartoon of a boy behind a piano.

Despite his criminal history, Jennings was a judge at an event called Pride London this year. The event’s profile states that he was asked to join the Talent Team at Syco in January and was involved in the 2014 production of The X Factor. However, Syco confirmed that Jennings has only met their representatives and has not met Simon Cowell personally. They also clarified that he has not been paid by Syco, X Factor, or Britain’s Got Talent, distancing themselves from his activities.

Jennings’s criminal past dates back to January 2003, when he was sentenced to four and a half years in jail for a series of sex offenses committed in North Somerset. The court heard that he groomed and seduced a young boy, beginning when the boy was 12 and continuing until he was 15. Jennings pleaded guilty to seven counts of indecent assault, three counts of indecency with a child, and multiple counts of making and possessing indecent images of children. Police had arrested him after the boy confided in his mother, and over 10,000 images of naked boys were found on Jennings’s computer, including approximately 500 believed to be under 16.
