SCOTT ROBERTSON SENTENCED FOR REPEATED CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN POOLE
In a case that has shocked the community of Poole, Scott Michael Robertson-Turvill, a 28-year-old man who is currently unemployed, was found guilty of multiple serious sexual offences involving a young girl.The incidents spanned over a three-year period, during which Robertson-Turvill repeatedly assaulted and sexually abused a toddler, causing significant distress and trauma to the victim.
Robertson-Turvill appeared before Bournemouth Crown Court to face the charges.
The court heard that he committed a series of heinous acts, including sexual assault on a female child under the age of 13.
For this particular offence, he was sentenced to 30 months in prison.
Additionally, he was convicted of a second sexual assault on a girl under 13, which resulted in a further 24 months of imprisonment, to be served consecutively.
The court also found that Robertson-Turvill engaged in sexual activity in the presence of a child under 13 on two separate occasions, each carrying a sentence of 12 months, also to be served consecutively.
In total, the judge handed down a cumulative sentence of six years and six months behind bars.
The severity of the sentence reflects the gravity of the offences and the impact on the young victim.
The court also imposed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, which restricts Robertson-Turvill’s activities and contact with minors.
Furthermore, he was ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring and public safety.
As part of the sentencing, a victim surcharge of £120 was also imposed, contributing to support services for victims of sexual crimes.
The case underscores the importance of justice for victims of child abuse and highlights the ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable children from predators within the community of Poole.
