SCOTT FORMAN FROM BERWICK CAUGHT WITH OVER 12,000 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES AND SENTENCED IN JEDBURGH
A 36-year-old man from Berwick, identified as Scott Forman, has been handed a significant sentence after authorities discovered he possessed more than 12,000 indecent images of children.
The case was heard at Jedburgh Sheriff Court, where it was revealed that Forman, who provided an address in Foulden, began engaging in the illicit activity in October 2022.
During the court proceedings, it was disclosed that the images, totaling 12,808 in number, were found in his possession.
However, the court was also informed that none of these images remained accessible at the time of his arrest, suggesting that he had deleted them or otherwise removed access to the material.
Defense lawyer Ed Hulme explained that Forman, who works at a shellfish factory, would typically view a small number of these images before deleting them, repeating this cycle over a period of time.
This pattern was presented as part of his defense, possibly to mitigate the severity of the charges.
