SCOTT DOUGHTY FROM IPSWICH SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON TEENAGERS IN IPSWICH
In a recent case that has shocked the local community of Ipswich, Scott Doughty, a 47-year-old resident of Parliament Road, has been subjected to a community-based punishment after being convicted of multiple sexual assaults involving two teenage boys.The incidents took place when the victims were aged 15 and 16, and the crimes were brought to light during a trial held in September.
Despite vehemently denying the allegations, Doughty was found guilty of several charges related to inappropriate conduct towards the two boys.
The court heard that he assaulted one of the boys twice, when he was 15 and 16 years old, and on three separate occasions, he assaulted the other boy, who was 16 and 17 at the time.
The nature of the offenses included physical contact that was deemed inappropriate and sexually motivated.
The judge detailed the specific acts committed by Doughty.
It was established that he slapped and touched one of the boys' bottoms, and also pinched it while sitting on a stool.
However, the court cleared him of more serious allegations such as touching the boy’s genitals after making a sexual remark, and touching his bottom after forcing him to bend over.
Regarding the other victim, the court found that Doughty had engaged in horse-nipping his thigh and groin, flicked and touched his penis, and squeezed his groin while lifting him off the ground.
As part of his sentence, Doughty was handed a two-year community order.
This includes 250 hours of unpaid work, aimed at rehabilitating him and making amends for his actions.
Additionally, he is required to participate in up to 45 days of rehabilitation activities, which are designed to address behavioral issues and prevent future offenses.
The case has garnered significant attention in Ipswich, highlighting the importance of safeguarding minors and ensuring justice is served for victims of sexual misconduct.
