SCOTT DAVIS EXETER MENACE JAILED FOR PUBLIC INDECENCY NEAR ST PETER'S SCHOOL

In a disturbing incident that has shocked the community of Exeter, a man identified as Scott Davis, aged 31, was sentenced to prison after publicly exposing himself near a local school. The incident took place on Rydon Lane, a busy thoroughfare in Exeter, where Davis was observed by witnesses engaging in highly inappropriate behavior.

According to reports, at approximately 2:40 pm on September 14, a female witness noticed a man standing by the side of Rydon Lane, not far from St Peter's School. The witness described the man as having his trousers down and actively masturbating in a vigorous manner, causing alarm and disgust among passersby. The witness promptly alerted authorities, leading to the intervention of a police officer who was passing by at the time.

The officer quickly apprehended Davis, who was found to be in a state of disarray. During questioning, Davis claimed that he had little recollection of the incident and attributed his behavior to not taking his medication properly. He also stated that he had been attempting to urinate at the time, although his actions suggested otherwise.

It was revealed that Davis had a history of previous convictions, including recent charges for violence. Notably, he had been released from custody only about an hour before the incident, after being arrested for shoplifting. This pattern of recent offending raised concerns among authorities and the community about his ongoing behavior.

At Exeter Crown Court, Judge Timothy Rose presided over the case. He expressed serious concern regarding Davis's lifestyle and recent conduct. The judge remarked, “I’m hugely concerned about how you are living your life at the moment,” emphasizing that Davis had committed this offense shortly after being released from custody.

Judge Rose highlighted Davis’s pattern of violent and disruptive behavior, describing him as a “menace” to the community. He voiced apprehension that Davis might continue to offend if proper intervention and support structures were not in place to address his issues. As a result, Davis was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison for outraging public decency, a conviction that underscores the severity of his actions and the community’s need for safety and justice.
