SCOTT CROSSAN FROM GLENROTHES AND GREENOCK THREATENS TO KILL WOMAN WITH KNIVES IN GREENOCK

In a disturbing incident that unfolded in the early hours of the morning, Scott Crossan, a 32-year-old man with connections to both Glenrothes and Greenock, was involved in a violent confrontation at a residence in Greenock. The events took place around 1:30 am, when Crossan's former partner was inside her home, unaware of the impending danger.

According to court reports, Crossan began shouting and swearing at her, creating a tense and threatening atmosphere. The situation escalated rapidly when he produced two kitchen knives, brandishing them aggressively and issuing a direct threat to her life. Prosecutor John Penman detailed that Crossan explicitly told her he intended to kill her, heightening the severity of the incident.

It was revealed that the two had maintained an on-and-off relationship over a period of six years. During this tumultuous relationship, Crossan had accused his partner of infidelity and repeatedly demanded access to her mobile phone. She refused to hand over the device, which led to Crossan's violent outburst. He retreated to the living room and threw his own mobile phone against the wall in frustration.

As she attempted to contact another witness for help, Crossan threatened to stab her, further demonstrating his dangerous intent. He then seized her mobile phone, refused to return it, and drew out knives, wielding them menacingly while continuing to threaten her life. The situation remained tense until her friend arrived at the scene, at which point Crossan proceeded to smash her phone. He remained inside the flat until police officers arrived and detained him in the kitchen.

During the court proceedings, Crossan's legal representative argued that the incident stemmed from a domestic argument and expressed remorse for his actions. The lawyer requested leniency, emphasizing that the relationship was now over and urging that Crossan not be imprisoned. Despite these pleas, Sheriff Linda Smith sentenced Crossan to 204 days in prison, citing his 'horrendous record involving knives' as a significant factor in her decision.

The incident was committed at an address on Broomhill Way in Greenock on January 25, marking a serious escalation in Crossan's history of violent behavior involving weapons.
