Scott Bruce Child Sexual Abuser in Worcester

WORCESTER — Scott Bruce has been sentenced after admitting multiple child indecent image offences at Worcester Crown Court.

The case began with Bruce denying the allegations at an earlier hearing on 7 February 2024.

He pleaded not guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of a child and one count of distributing indecent photographs of children, contrary to the Protection of Children Act 1978.

A trial was initially scheduled, and witnesses were asked to attend Worcester Crown Court.

However, before the hearing took place, witnesses were informed that their attendance was no longer required after Bruce indicated he would plead guilty to all offences.

At a later hearing, Bruce formally admitted all four offences.

The court sentenced him to: * 27 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years * 30 days of rehabilitation activity requirements * Registration on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years * A Sexual Harm Prevention Order lasting 10 years A suspended sentence means Bruce will not immediately be sent to prison unless he commits further offences or breaches the conditions imposed by the court during the suspension period.

The Sexual Harm Prevention Order places restrictions on Bruce’s behaviour to help protect the public, while the notification requirements require him to remain on the Sex Offenders Register for a decade.

Bruce had originally denied the offences, but his guilty pleas meant witnesses were no longer required to give evidence and the case proceeded directly to sentencing.
