SAQIB KHAN SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT IN HUDDERSFIELD HOME IN HORRIFIC INCIDENT
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Huddersfield, Saqib Khan, aged 40, has been sentenced to a decade behind bars after being found guilty of a heinous sexual assault involving a child under the age of 10.The incident took place on the evening of April 20th, within the confines of a family residence in Huddersfield, where Khan unlawfully entered the home and committed a grave sexual offense against a young child.
During the trial held in October, the court heard detailed accounts of how Khan managed to breach the family’s security and gain access to the child's bedroom.
Once inside, he committed the assault, leaving the family members distressed and alarmed.
Although the victim’s relatives heard a commotion, they were unable to enter the room to intervene at that moment.
In response to the disturbance, the child's father promptly called emergency services by dialing 999.
He then went outside the property to seek help and was soon joined by two police officers who happened to be passing nearby.
The officers responded swiftly, forcing entry into the child's room, where they found Khan.
They restrained and arrested him at the scene.
Following the incident, Khan was charged with sexual assault, and the case proceeded through the judicial process.
Today, at Leeds Crown Court, he was formally sentenced to ten years in prison for his actions.
The court also mandated that upon his release, Khan must sign the Sex Offenders Register for life, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities.
Furthermore, Khan was placed under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which imposes strict conditions on his conduct.
Any breach of this order could result in immediate arrest and prosecution, emphasizing the seriousness of the court’s response to his crimes.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and the judiciary to protect vulnerable individuals and ensure that offenders are held accountable for their actions in Huddersfield.
