SAMUEL KIRK FROM HULL AND MANCHESTER SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

In a deeply disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Hull and Manchester, Samuel Kirk, a teenage babysitter, was convicted of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of a young girl.

The victim, now 21 years old, bravely shared her harrowing story, revealing how Kirk, who was just 15 at the time, repeatedly assaulted her during what was supposed to be caring babysitting sessions.

The abuse took place in March 2017, when the girl was only eight years old.

She described how Kirk exploited their innocent game of 'sleeping lions'—a children's activity where participants lie still on the floor and are not permitted to move—as a cover for his sinister actions.

During these episodes, Kirk, who resided most recently on Stockport Road in Manchester, engaged in acts of sexual assault that left lasting scars.

At Hull Crown Court, Kirk was found guilty of raping and sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13.

Last June, he was sentenced to six years in prison for his crimes.

The court proceedings revealed the extent of his misconduct, which included touching the girl inappropriately and forcing her to touch him before the assault.

The victim recounted that the abuse occurred on multiple occasions, each time Kirk came to look after her, which was typically every week.

She vividly described her initial confusion and lack of understanding, noting that the first incident did not involve full sexual assault, but the second left her in agony.

She explained how she sensed something was wrong but could not comprehend what was happening at the time.

Her fear and inability to confide in anyone led her to suppress her feelings for years.

Her distress was compounded by her young age and limited understanding of the situation.

At just 10 years old, she told her mother she no longer wanted Kirk to babysit her because he was 'horrible.' It was only later, during her final year of primary school, that she learned the full extent of her trauma through her sex education class.

The revelations made her feel disgusted, vile, and utterly confused.

She recalled how she believed she was pregnant and resorted to punching her stomach in a desperate attempt to understand her feelings.

As she progressed into secondary school, her mental health deteriorated further.

She exhibited erratic behavior, developed a bad attitude, and began self-harming.

She confided in her mother at age 14, revealing her suspicions and the abuse she endured.

Despite her fears, she eventually found the courage to disclose everything to her mother at age 16, after two years of counseling.

Her mother was devastated, feeling guilt and disgust, though she never explicitly expressed these feelings.

Throughout her journey, the victim struggled with the fear that no one would believe her and was terrified of involving the police.

Nevertheless, she summoned the strength to report Kirk’s abuse, which led to a court trial at Hull Crown Court in June of the previous year.

Giving evidence was an emotionally harrowing experience, but she described it as both the worst and the most empowering thing she had ever done.

The guilty verdict brought her a sense of justice, and she expressed relief that Kirk received a six-year prison sentence.

Now, at 21, she is determined to encourage others who have suffered similar abuse to come forward and seek justice.

She emphasized that reporting abuse, even years later, can lead to positive outcomes.

Her message is one of hope and resilience, urging victims not to suffer in silence.

She reflected on her own struggles, sharing how her behavior was once so destructive that she wanted to end her life, but now she is focused on her future, with a career ahead of her and a renewed sense of happiness.

Her story underscores the importance of speaking out and the possibility of healing after trauma.
