January 2017 Predatory pizza delivery driver targeted schoolgirl with X-rated requests A pizza takeaway driver has been jailed after bombarding a 15-year-old girl with X-rated messages in a bid to lure her into performing sex acts. Samuel Brown made friends with his victim’s parents before “relentlessly” pursuing the girl – who repeatedly turned down his illicit advances. The 24-year-old was locked up after the girl plucked up the courage to tell her parents about the “dangerous sexual predator”, despite his threats. Brown, of Glebe Road in Skelmersdale , targeted his victim over a six month period at the end of 2015. He made friends with her parents and then sent the girl dozens of explicit messages by phone and social media – all the while threatening the teen if she told her family about the demands. He would also visit the girl’s home to make inappropriate requests and urged her to go on deliveries with him in the hope she would carry out sex acts. The victim never engaged with Brown but this failed to put him off. The offences only stopped when the she alerted her parents, who immediately informed the police, resulting in Brown’s arrest. At court Brown entered guilty pleas for three charges of causing or inciting a girl aged 15 to engage in sexual activity with an offender over the age of 18. The remaining two charges will lie on file. He was sentenced to 20 months in prison, reduced to 18 months following a guilty plea. He was also issued with a restraining order to not contact the victim, a sexual harm prevention order and made to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register, each for 10 years.
