SALIM AHAMAD ARRESTED IN BUSHEY FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON SCHOOLGIRL
In February 2016, a serious incident involving a young girl in Bushey led to the swift apprehension and conviction of a man accused of sexual assault.The offender, identified as Salim Ahamad, aged 22, residing on High Road in Bushey, faced legal action after pleading guilty to the charges brought against him.
The case came to light when the 14-year-old victim confided in her grandmother about the distressing incident.
Following her disclosure, law enforcement authorities were promptly notified.
Police officers responded quickly, collecting CCTV footage from various locations around Bushey to aid in identifying the suspect.
Through careful analysis of the footage, officers were able to pinpoint Ahamad as the individual responsible for the assault.
His arrest was executed shortly thereafter, bringing an end to the investigation phase.
The legal proceedings culminated in Ahamad being sentenced to six months in prison after he admitted guilt in court.
Hertsmere's Chief Inspector Tannis Perks commented on the case, emphasizing the gravity of the incident.
She stated, “This was a frightening and upsetting incident against a young girl.
Officers acted swiftly to secure CCTV of the offender, identify him and then quickly arrest him, which has resulted in him being given a custodial sentence by the courts.” Perks also acknowledged the difficulties victims face when reporting sexual offences, highlighting the importance of prompt police action in such cases to ensure justice is served.
