RYAN YOUNG FROM HARTLEPOOL SENTENCED AFTER HORRIFIC ABUSE OF YORKIE PRINCESS ARMANI
Ryan Young, a resident of Windermere Road in Hartlepool, has been convicted of severe animal cruelty after neglecting and failing to seek veterinary care for a critically injured Yorkshire Terrier named Princess Armani. Born on April 22, 1992, Young’s history is marred by numerous previous convictions, marking him as a career criminal with a long record of offenses.Princess Armani was found suffering from a series of devastating injuries that left her in a dire state. Her injuries included a severely damaged eye that was so badly affected it was hanging out of its socket, and a skin infection believed to have been caused by exposure to boiling water or hot oil. Despite the obvious pain and suffering inflicted upon her, Young did not take any action to get her the medical attention she desperately needed. No plausible explanation was ever provided for the extent of her injuries, which remained a mystery even to those investigating her case.
It was revealed that Young was responsible for caring for Princess Armani at the time of her injuries. However, instead of seeking urgent veterinary treatment, he left her in a state of neglect. The dog’s condition was so severe that her eye was hanging out, a sign of extreme trauma and neglect. Fortunately, with the intervention of the RSPCA and dedicated veterinary care, Princess Armani was eventually stabilized and made a full recovery. She has since been rehomed to a loving family, and her new owner reports that she is now a happy and healthy dog. Inspector Clare Wilson, who was involved in the case, expressed her relief at her recovery, stating, “She is a happy dog and I’m sure she will be fine from now on.”
Wilson also described the case as one of the most distressing she has encountered, emphasizing the horrific nature of the injuries and the apparent neglect. “It was an awful case to deal with. I have never seen an animal with such horrendous injuries. You’ve got to wonder how she got those injuries. It was awful somebody could let that happen to a dog,” she said.
In court, Ryan Young was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for 12 months, with supervision. He was also ordered to pay £260 in costs. Additionally, Young received a ten-year ban from owning any animals, a restriction that will remain in effect until September 2024. This case highlights the ongoing issues of animal cruelty and neglect in the Hartlepool area, and the efforts of authorities to bring offenders to justice and ensure the welfare of vulnerable animals.
