RYAN WOOLSEY SENTENCED IN MERSEYSIDE FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES AND IMAGE SHARING
A man from Merseyside has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after committing heinous acts of sexual assault against a young girl, as well as engaging in the production and distribution of indecent images involving her.Ryan Woolsey, aged 25 and residing in Withensfield, Liscard, was handed a prison sentence of thirteen years and eight months for his appalling crimes.
Woolsey faced multiple serious charges, including two counts of assaulting a girl under the age of 13 through physical contact.
In addition, he was convicted of two counts related to the creation of indecent photographs of a child, possessing such images, sharing them, and taking indecent photographs of the young victim.
The investigation revealed a disturbing pattern of abuse, with Woolsey not only assaulting the girl but also capturing and disseminating indecent images of her.
During the course of the police inquiry, authorities seized Woolsey’s electronic devices.
These devices contained evidence of his criminal activities, including the indecent images he had taken and shared, as well as proof of the assault itself.
The evidence was instrumental in securing his conviction and subsequent sentencing.
Detective Inspector Rob Pritchard expressed his outrage and condemnation of Woolsey’s actions.
He stated, “I know that people hearing the details of Woolsey’s crimes will feel complete revulsion at the way he exploited a young child.
His crimes are quite simply despicable.
Woolsey had no regard for the impact his behaviour would have on the victim, and thought only of his own sordid gratification.” He further emphasized the devastating impact such crimes have on victims and their families, noting that the trauma inflicted can last a lifetime.
Inspector Pritchard paid tribute to the bravery of the young girl and her family, whose courage in coming forward and cooperating with law enforcement was truly humbling.
He also thanked the dedicated police team responsible for investigating Woolsey, whose efforts led to his arrest and conviction, thereby preventing further harm to other children.
Inspector Pritchard concluded with a strong message, expressing hope that Woolsey would reflect on the terrible consequences of his actions during his time behind bars.
He reaffirmed Merseyside Police’s unwavering commitment to protecting children from sexual abuse and to combating the sharing of exploitative images.
The police’s Unity team continues to work tirelessly to prevent sexual offences and shield victims from the trauma and suffering caused by such heinous crimes.
