MIDDLESBROUGH MAN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR VIOLENT ASSAULT ON WOMAN
A 22-year-old man named Ryan Raynor has been found guilty of a severe assault on a woman in Middlesbrough. The assault took place in May, during which Raynor repeatedly punched, kicked, and strangled the victim. He admitted to four charges: attempted wounding under section 18, making threats to kill, deliberate strangulation, and common assault. The court handed down a sentence of four and a half years' imprisonment. Raynor, who resides on Fawcett Way, was also ordered to remain indefinitely away from the victim, under a restraining order. Investigating officer James Smith commented, 'Raynor's attack was vicious and violent, likely leaving a significant psychological impact on the victim. We hope she can find some solace knowing her attacker is now serving time in prison to contemplate his actions.'
