RYAN NAHIRNY FROM BASFORD SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN NOTTINGHAM

In a disturbing case that has shocked the Nottingham community, Ryan Nahirny, aged 35 and residing on Salcombe Road in Basford, Nottingham, has been sentenced to prison for heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of very young children. The case came to light in December 2020 when authorities uncovered a disturbing collection of indecent images and videos on Nahirny's electronic devices.

His arrest followed an incident in August of that year, during which Nahirny was attempting to fill out an online form. In an attempt to seek assistance, he handed his phone to another individual. It was during this process that the helper noticed several indecent images of children stored on the device, prompting further investigation by law enforcement.

Subsequent police examinations of Nahirny’s electronic gadgets revealed a horrifying trove of over 6,000 images depicting child sexual abuse. Many of these images represented the most severe forms of abuse, including rape and torture, highlighting the extent of Nahirny’s criminal activities. Authorities also recovered numerous messages exchanged in online chat rooms, in which Nahirny openly discussed and expressed intentions to rape and abuse children.

Further investigation uncovered online sharing of images featuring two identifiable young victims, adding to the gravity of the case. The police’s forensic analysis confirmed that Nahirny had actively engaged in the distribution and creation of indecent images of children, with some of the material involving children under the age of 13.

At an earlier hearing, Nahirny pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including two counts of sexual activity with a child under 13, three counts of distributing indecent images of children, and three counts of making indecent images. His guilty plea paved the way for his appearance at Nottingham Crown Court, where he was formally sentenced.

Today, the court handed down a sentence of seven years in prison for his crimes. Additionally, Nahirny will serve a three-year period on extended licence, ensuring close monitoring after his release. As part of his sentence, he will be registered on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which aims to prevent any further harm.

The investigation into Nahirny’s activities revealed a truly disturbing collection of child sexual abuse material, with police uncovering more than 6,000 images. The majority of these images depicted the most serious offences against children, including rape and torture, underscoring the severity of his crimes and the threat he posed to the community of Basford and beyond.
