TIKTOK MESSAGE LANDS MAN IN PRISON AFTER FIVE-WORD CAPTION TO 'CRUSHED' VICTIM

An individual named Ryan Marrazza repeatedly sent messages and made phone calls to his former girlfriend, ignoring a restraining order and using social media platform TikTok to continue his harassment.

This behavior severely affected her well-being, instilling fear and making her hesitant to leave her home.

Marrazza, aged 32 from York Road, Hull, pleaded guilty to harassment and breaching a restraining order, as reported by Hull Live.

It was revealed that the couple had ended their relationship in 2019 and that Marrazza had prior convictions, including a stalking offence for which he received a suspended sentence and a decade-long restraining order.

During court proceedings, it was discussed that on January 31 of the previous year, the woman received a TikTok message featuring a photo of Marrazza and his name.

The message included a photo of the two of them with a caption stating: "My everything in one photo.

What I would give to spend my life with you," along with a music-laden video.

Prosecutor Harry Bradford described this as a clear violation of the court order.

The woman described her psychological state, saying: "I constantly feel on edge, anxious, and scared of what he might do.

I believed the harassment order would keep me safe, but I still live in fear.

Ryan Marrazza has caused me extreme distress and alarm over the years." She also shared how her fear led to social withdrawal and damaged her relationships.

Following his arrest on February 1, last year, Marrazza admitted to understanding the restraining order and acknowledged sending the messages.

His criminal history includes 15 offenses spanning from 2009 to the latest incident, including the stalking case that earned him a one-year suspended sentence, a behavioral course, and the restraining order.

His initial sentence was postponed for six months to see if he could avoid further trouble.

Later, the court reported no new incidents, leading to a six-month suspended sentence, four months of monitoring, and a 20-day rehabilitation program.

Judge John Thackray KC warned Marrazza: "You have this six months to keep your nose clean.

If you do, you won’t serve it.

But if you find yourself in trouble again, that period will be enforced, along with any additional penalties." It was also reported that in 2022, Marrazza sent his ex-girlfriend numerous threatening messages and calls, even paying someone to follow her.

He once messaged her with an invitation: "Time for a trip to the seaside," after locating her.

She was too frightened to leave her hotel, fearing he'd be waiting outside, unsure if he knew her exact address.

Despite her moves, he continued calling and messaging her, claiming he was sorry and had learned his lesson.

He expressed remorse through WhatsApp, knowing details about her shopping habits and phone contract, and asked in a message: "What did I do wrong?

xxx."
