RYAN ENGLISH FROM CASTLEFORD SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD RAPE AT YORKSHIRE WORKING MEN'S CLUBS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Castleford and the wider West Yorkshire area, Ryan English, aged 22, has been sentenced to nine years in prison after being found guilty of heinous crimes involving a young boy. The offences took place over a period of several years and included multiple acts of sexual assault against a three-year-old boy, as well as additional sexual misconduct involving another child.

According to court proceedings, English first committed the assault when he was approximately 15 years old. At that time, he was working as a DJ at a working men’s club in Yorkshire. The initial attack occurred in a toilet cubicle within the premises, where he subjected the young boy to a sexual assault that has left lasting trauma. The severity of the crime was compounded by the fact that the victim was only three years old at the time, highlighting the vulnerability and innocence of the child.

The court also heard that English continued his predatory behaviour in 2017, targeting another young victim during a birthday celebration at a different working men’s club where he was also employed as a DJ. During this incident, he exposed himself and performed an indecent act in front of the child, further demonstrating his pattern of disturbing conduct. The incident was reported to bar staff, which led to English’s arrest and subsequent police investigation.

Further investigations revealed a disturbing pattern of behaviour. It was uncovered that English had downloaded explicit videos involving children being raped onto his mobile phone after he was released on bail. Authorities also discovered that he had been in contact with an individual via WhatsApp, requesting indecent images of children to be sent to him. These revelations painted a picture of a man deeply involved in the exploitation of minors and engaging in illegal activities related to child abuse.

During the trial, English denied all charges. However, the evidence presented was overwhelming. He was convicted of three counts of rape, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, and three counts of making indecent images of a child. The court heard a victim impact statement read on behalf of the mother of English’s first victim, who described the profound and lasting damage inflicted on her son. She explained that her son now suffers from nightmares, is severely traumatised, and has become an anxious, self-conscious, and angry boy, illustrating the devastating effects of the abuse.

Recorder Abdul Iqbal, QC, described the offences as “shameless and cruel,” emphasizing the gravity of the crimes committed over several years against a vulnerable young boy. He condemned English’s actions, stating that they were driven by a desire to satisfy his sexual cravings for young boys and that he had robbed his victims of a normal, happy childhood. The court’s verdict reflects the seriousness with which such crimes are viewed, and the sentence aims to serve justice for the victims and protect the community from further harm.
