PERTH MAN JAILED FOR SEX WITH 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL
A Perthshire man named Ryan Dunn is facing jail after admitting to having sex with a girl who was under the age of 16.The offenses were documented in the diary of the 15-year-old victim, which was discovered by police.
It was revealed during the High Court hearing in Glasgow that Dunn told the girl he loved her just days after they met in Perth in early 2016.
He engaged in sexual activities with her approximately ten times over the course of six months.
Advocate depute Joanna McDonald stated that Dunn, 27, met the girl in March 2016 and they established a 'boyfriend-girlfriend' relationship.
On March 31, he contacted her on Facebook, arranging to meet at South Inch, Perth, where she disclosed her age as 15, claiming that he was 24 but loved her.
Despite her being taken into care by local authorities due to concerns for her safety, Dunn continued to call her and profess his love.
The police found her diary, which contained handwritten evidence of her abuse by Dunn.
Dunn, who was detained in Edinburgh, admitted to having sex with the girl at his home in Perth and another location there between March and August 2016.
He also admitted to a second charge related to neglect and ill-treatment of three young children in care with Perth woman Mary Hodge, 29.
Dunn had previously served a 10-month jail sentence in 2017 for a related case involving a teenage girl found under his bed, despite a court order against her contacting him.
In October 2019, he was sentenced to 30 months after threatening death and posting revenge porn videos.
His sentence was deferred for background reports, and he was placed on the sex offenders' register.
Several other charges concerning the sexual abuse of children against Dunn, Hodge, and another man, Aaron Dunn, were dropped 'pro loco et tempore' by prosecutors, meaning the charges could be reinstated later.
