RYAN CHADWICK FROM LONG EATON SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS IN DERBYSHIRE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Long Eaton and the wider Derbyshire area, Ryan Chadwick, a 23-year-old man residing on College Street in Long Eaton, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 16 years for a series of heinous sexual offences committed against multiple underage girls.Chadwick's criminal activities spanned several months and involved at least three young victims, all under the age of 16. The first victim, a teenage girl, was targeted after Chadwick initiated contact with her via social media platform Snapchat in February 2020. During their online interactions, he engaged in grooming behaviors, attempting to build trust and manipulate her. It was during this period that Chadwick offered her money in exchange for sexual acts, a clear indication of his predatory intent.
Following this online grooming, Chadwick arranged to meet the girl in person, where he engaged her in sexual intercourse. His actions did not stop there. He also assaulted another girl, who was under 13 years old, on two separate occasions in May 2020. During these encounters, he attempted to rape her twice, demonstrating a pattern of predatory and violent behavior.
In addition to these assaults, Chadwick had sexual contact with a third underage girl on two separate occasions. His repeated offenses against minors highlight a disturbing pattern of exploitation and abuse.
Chadwick was arrested and brought before Nottingham Crown Court, where he admitted to numerous charges. During the hearing, he pleaded guilty to multiple counts, including assault by penetration, sexual activity with a child, inciting a child into sexual activity, and attempted rape of a child. He also admitted to paying for sexual services from a minor, further underscoring the severity of his crimes.
The court sentenced Chadwick to 16 years in prison. As part of the sentencing, he is required to serve a minimum of two-thirds of his sentence before being eligible for parole. Additionally, he was issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which prohibits him from having any contact with girls under the age of 16. He is also mandated to register as a sex offender for life and is permanently banned from working with children in any capacity.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by online grooming and the importance of vigilance in protecting vulnerable minors from predators like Ryan Chadwick, whose actions have caused significant harm and distress to his victims and the community at large.
