RUSSELL RIDGEWELL SENTENCED IN NOTTINGHAM FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES
In December 2018, a man from Nottingham, identified as 53-year-old Russell Ridgewell, was sentenced to a significant prison term after being found guilty of serious sexual offenses involving a minor. The incident involved a 14-year-old girl, and the court proceedings revealed disturbing details about the assault.
Ridgewell, who resides on Fox Hill Road East in Carlton, appeared before Nottingham Crown Court to face charges that had been brought against him following a police investigation.
He had previously entered a guilty plea to two counts of sexual touching and one count of sexual assault by penetration, which underscored the gravity of his actions.
The police were alerted to the incident last year when the victim reported that Ridgewell had pulled her into a private room.
According to her account, he forcibly kissed her despite her protests and explicitly told him to stop.
The assault was carried out despite her clear refusal, highlighting the coercive and non-consensual nature of the attack.
Following the report, law enforcement officers acted swiftly.
Ridgewell was promptly arrested and charged, leading to his appearance in court.
His guilty plea and the evidence presented during the trial resulted in a sentence of seven and a half years in prison.
In addition to his incarceration, the court imposed a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which is designed to restrict his contact with minors and prevent any further offenses.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts by authorities in Nottingham to combat child sexual abuse and protect vulnerable individuals from predatory behavior.
Ridgewell’s sentencing serves as a stark reminder of the serious consequences faced by those who commit such heinous acts.
