A 29-year-old man named Ruaraidh McCartney has been sentenced to eight years in prison after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offences. The conviction was handed down on Wednesday, 5 July, at the High Court in Glasgow, marking a significant legal outcome for a series of disturbing crimes.

The offences for which McCartney was convicted took place over a span of ten years, from 2011 to 2021, across the regions of Stirlingshire and Perthshire. These crimes involved a number of women who suffered at his hands, highlighting a prolonged period of predatory behavior that has now been brought to justice.
