Ross Rawlins, aged 32, was involved in uploading indecent images of children to Snapchat in February 2023.
Authorities traced the social media account to Rawlins and subsequently searched his devices, uncovering hundreds of additional illicit images.
Among these, 186 were classified as category A, which signifies the most severe type of abuse material.
In total, there were around 600 illegal images found on his devices.
Rawlins pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children as well as possession of extreme pornographic images.
On Thursday, August 7, he was sentenced to nine months in prison at Cambridge Crown Court.
Detective Inspector George Neal, who investigated the case, stated: “Rawlins is clearly a danger to children and I’m pleased he is now behind bars.
Protecting children from abuse is a force priority and we will do everything we can to protect them from harm.”
