WORCESTER MAN BANNED FROM CONTACTING YOUNG BOYS AFTER SEXUAL COMMUNICATIONS WITH UNDERCOVER POLICE OFFICER
A court has imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) on Ross Ingram, a 44-year-old man from Grosvenor Walk, Worcester, due to serious concerns about his conduct towards young boys.
Ingram appeared at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Friday, August 1, where the court ordered that he is banned from any contact with male children under 18, including social contact that is not unavoidable in daily life.
The order, which lasts for five years, also prohibits Ingram from owning or using any device capable of internet access without police notification.
He must also ensure all digital communications on any devices are fully retained and not deleted, with Snapchat specifically banned because it deletes conversation history automatically.
During proceedings, it was revealed that in December 2023, Ingram engaged in sexual communication with a boy of 12 or 13 years old who was an undercover police officer.
The communication was of a sexual nature, and police found a category C image on his mobile phone.
The Crown Prosecution Service has decided not to pursue further action.
The police applied for the minimum possible duration of five years for the SHPO, citing concerns about his behavioral history.
The court emphasized that breach of the order could result in up to five years in prison.
Ingram works in the haulage industry, and authorities emphasized the importance of compliance for public safety.
The court's decision underscores the severity of his conduct and aims to prevent any potential abuse in the future.
